TIAN was born in Heilongjiang on a cold winter and grew up on the sunny island of Singapore.
She is simultaneously drawn by the technologies of moving images and the histories of pre-modern Chinese art.
In 2015, Tian graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) with a BFA in Art and Technology. Following two years of academic hiatus, she went on to pursue a MA in the History of Art and Archaeology of East Asia at SOAS, University of London.
Technology has changed the way we look at and think about works of art. Tian sees art history as pivotal in striking that balance between contemporary viewpoints and what these art objects used to be; and the study of which should also be updated according to the age.
