TIAN was born in Heilongjiang, China on a cold winter and grew up on the sunny island of Singapore.

She received the UOB Painting of the Year Award in 2010 and furthered her studies in USA with support from the National Arts Council.

During her years in New York City and Chicago, she acquired skills in industrial and interior design on top of pursuing fine art. She engaged the communities through public artworks and managed museum public outreach and education programs. Driven by her love for the stage, she was also heavily involved in theatrical productions and worked as a theatrical lighting designer.

After graduating with a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Tian continues her artistic endeavours in Singapore. Besides paintings, she often works with mixed media installations involving space, light and sound.

She believes that art is a way to communicate meanings, a lens to our world and a solution to what we face in daily lives.

*Update: Tian's now living and studying in London, pursuing a MA in History of Art and Archaeology of East Asia! Just 'cus, too much love
